"Still Faithful in the Word!"
Joyous 125th Celebration took place June 11
Thank you to everyone who made the 125th Anniversary of our congregation a success. In spite of a storm and a power outage in parts of our town, the worship service with Dr. Dean Nadasdy was uplifting, the memorabilia in the atrium were of interest to nearly everyone, the free history booklet was appreciated by members and guests, the anniversary banners were attractive and uplifting, and the catered meal was enjoyable to all.
We were especially thankful to have Deaconess Nancy Lingenfelter (1965-1967), Rev. Charles Boeder (1972-1992), Betsy Lorenzen, Preschool administrator and teacher (2000-2012), all former church workers at St. Paul, and District President Dr. Dean and Mrs. Suzie Nadasdy at the Service of Celebration Sunday, June 11.
We received letters and cards of greetings and congratulations from Deaconess Nancy nee Brandt Lingenfelter (1965-1967), Mrs. Jan Part (widow of Pastor Tom Part, 1974-1980), Pastor Keith Wachter (1980-1983), and the members of St. John Lutheran Church, Trosky.
The sermon by Dr. Dean Nadasdy, president of MN-S District of the LCMS, was based on Revelation 21:5. In his message, Dr. Nadasdy reminded members of our congregation that Jesus is in our midst, Still Faithful in the Word, and that He is the One who makes us His redeemed people. He further told us what a blessing the body of Christ, our fellow church members at St. Paul Lutheran Church, are to us even though we often overlook one another in the midst of our busy lives and forget what a wonderful gift our brothers and sisters in Christ are to us.
